Resource
The role of the Resource Teacher is to provide a supportive service to classroom teachers, administrators, and parents in meeting the individual needs of students. This is accomplished through a model of consultation and collaboration, which uses a team approach to planning, implementation and evaluation.

• working with teachers and education assistants
• organize conferences with members of the team for individual student planning
• request involvement of division clinicians
• monitor progress of students deemed “at risk”
• assist with the intake and placement of new students
• assist with early identification programs( like Pre-K days and Preschool Wellness Fairs)
• provide resources to teachers and educational assistants(teaching strategies, materials, etc)
• attend resource meetings
• be a member of the school crisis intervention team
• provide direct service to some students through assessment, tutoring, and achievement testing
• arrange, chair, provide minutes, and develop goals, for students on Individual Education Programs
